George targets Zim National title

SEASONED body-builder Beloved George is confident of taking his current form to the Zimbabwe National scheduled for this evening at 7 Arts.

George, who has won five titles this year, is hopeful of winning the Men’s Fitness Physique in the country’s premier body-building, contest. The contest has attracted top body-builders, who have seen it all in the sport. The athlete has won the fitness physique in April and went on to win the World Fitness Federation Midlands Classic, Men’s Sports Model in Gweru, WWF Kings and Queens Grand Men’s Sports Model as well as the Harare Classic.

“I am ready for the challenge and I am hopeful that I will win. I have been training hard and my records can show that this is my year and I am glad that I have managed to take part in as many events. This year alone I have won five consecutive shows which gives me confidence.

“I managed to out stage several athletes this year I am now looking forward to do well again,” said George.

The main category has attracted probably the best line-up in recent years with defending champion Mark Anthony Vassilatos, Nigel Maphosa, Edward Mutero, Noah Dzvokora, Ndumiso Dlodlo, David Weir, among several others expected to turn up.

National Federation of Zimbabwe Body-building and Fitness (NFZBF) representative, Keith Chirimanzi, said the competition will be bigger and better this year.

“We are going to have the Zim Nationals this weekend with several athletes having confirmed their availability. The preparations are going on well and we are hopeful that by Saturday everything will be in line. We are expecting a very good line-up who have defending champion Mark, former champion Maphosa who is coming back.
