TRIANGLE United head coach Genesis Mangombe has hailed veteran midfielder Thabani Kamusoko, saying his stellar performance helped them earn a valuable point against Chicken Inn in a goalless draw on Saturday.
Putting on the captain’s armband and his favourite jersey number 13, Kamusoko, a former Warriors midfielder, seems to be “getting better with age like wine”.
‘‘It is always good to have players like Thabani in your team. He led by example and helped us neutralise Chicken Inn’s attacks. These are big players with big hearts that you will always need to have in your squad day in and day out,” said Mangombe.
The now bald Pumula bred Kamusoko, who is a former FC Platinum captain, could not finish the match after he got injured deep into the second-half.
“It’s unfortunate that he could not finish the match due to an injury, which he will soon recover from. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Kamusoko’s stint with giants Dynamos, East African teams (in Tanzania), and across the Southern African region (including Zesco in Zambia) makes him one of the most experienced players in the league.
In the process, he helped the Lowveld-based side return to the country’s elite football league after bossing the Zifa Eastern Region Division League under the guidance of seasoned gaffer Luke “Vahombe” Masomere.
His experience with the Zimbabwe national team that took part in the 2022 biennial Africa Cup of Nations finals held in Cameroon under the tutelage of Norman Mapeza also came into play in that fight.
And that he was the 2014 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Soccer Star of the Year finalist speaks volumes about his journey.
