GETTING IT RIGHT

IN Wednesday’s edition of The Chronicle, we erroneously quoted Justice Francis Bere of the Bulawayo High Court as having described the conduct of Thokozile Moyo, a woman who killed a man who wanted to rape her, as “disgusting.”

It has since come to our attention that the judge in fact condemned the alleged rapist’s actions saying: “The conduct of the alleged rapist Edward Vundla Nduna was an insult to the dignity of Moyo, and the accused’s (Moyo’s) behaviour was most unusual.”

We sincerely apologise to Justice Bere for the embarrassment the article may have caused him. – Editor
