JUMBO Giants striker King Nasama has claimed the MCM Estates Northern Region Soccer League’s August individual awards.
Nasama was named the league’s Top Goal Scorer of the Month following a productive spell in front of goal.
The forward saluted his teammates for pushing him to work harder.
“I am very happy because it was not an easy month for me. I worked very hard together with my teammates, and they pushed me to do more until I received this award,” said Nasama.
“My message to the team is that we must continue pushing because the sky is the limit.
“We always push each other in training and we must keep working hard.”
His goals have helped Jumbo Giants maintain a place in the top half of the standings as the championship enters its decisive phase.
The Giants are eighth with 44 points from 30 matches, having registered 11 wins, 11 draws and eight defeats.
Black Rhinos remain at the summit with 56 points, three ahead of second-placed Harare City.
The army side have recorded 15 wins, 11 draws and four defeats, while conceding only 13 goals in 30 matches.
Rhinos host MWOS Under-19 at Commando Barracks today, while Harare City travel to Muriel Mine Stadium for a date with PAM FC.
