GIANTS destroyed Nust B 75-28 in a Bulawayo Basketball Association league men’s encounter at Khanyisile Sports Centre on Saturday.

Giants dominated the game from the first quarter, with Norman Chimukanda grabbing 30 points to lead the defending champions to victory.

The result means Giants still top the log standings with nine points from five games. They have lost just a single game thus far at the hands of Oilers, who stunned them 61-63 in a tightly contested encounter.

In another match, Oilers dispatched City Knights 99-29 to remain unbeaten in the league. Oilers have been impressive this season and are favourites to wrest the title from Giants.

In the women’s league, Southern Mavericks returned to league action with an impressive 107-21 demolition of Angels. The defending champions were in devastating form on the day and Angels had no answers.

Lakers’ seniors also produced a top drawer performance to embarrass Lupane State University 133-8 in a one-sided encounter. It was a dominant all-round performance by Lakers, who taught the students a basketball lesson on the court.
