A city doctor is at loggerheads with his pregnant girlfriend whom he is forcing to abort, a Harare Civil Court magistrate heard last week. Nomatter Gaba claimed Takudzwa Sasa, a doctor at Harare Central Hospital, gave her tablets to abort.
Sasa is now seeking a protection order against Gaba accusing her of coming to his house with her relatives to intimidate him.
“She once came to my house with her brothers and insulted my family threatening them with unspecified action,” he said.
Sasa told magistrate Mr Trevor Nyatsanza that he wanted to go for DNA tests with Gaba to ascertain who was responsible for the pregnancy. Gaba denied the allegations and accused Sasa of trying to force her to terminate the pregnancy.
“He brought tablets and injections for me saying the only thing he can assist me with as a doctor was to abort the pregnancy,” she said.
Mr Nyatsanza granted the order in Sasa’s favour.
He ordered Gaba not to visit Sasa’s workplace or insult him. Nyatsanza also advised Sasa and Gaba to resolve their differences amicably.
