Go away in style in the E-Class hearse

The Germans are known for their superior craftsmanship especially when it comes to manufacturing cars. They have some of the best and foremost car manufacturers in the world such as Daimler Chrysler and the Bavarian Motor Works, commonly known as BMW.
These companies have designed cars for various uses without undermining their high class. I came to this realisation this past week when Nyaradzo Group CEO Mr Philip Mataranyika invited me to his office. I had no idea why a man in his line of work would be interested in having a chat with me.

When I arrived at his office he indicated that he wanted us to go to Zimoco. As we were driving I was thinking that maybe he wants me to help him choose a car – Yes that’s what I thought because lately I have become a consultant for people shopping for cars.

When we arrived at Zimoco I was pleasantly surprised that this was not the case as we were being ushered into the showroom that had two E-class hearses. These, I was told, were the latest acquisition by Nyaradzo. These particular E-Class hearses are not so different engine wise from your standard E-Class passenger vehicle. I had too many questions about these vehicles and after a chat with Ms Daphne Ritson and Mr Mataranyika over a cup of tea I got a clear background on the vehicle.

Looking at the length of the two hearses and their grand size my immediate concern was on safety, stability and comfort. I was told that they were perfectly safe as the braking system had been adapted to suit and cater for the length and height of the vehicle.

The two also have an adapted suspension strut, which have designed to accommodate the gross vehicle weight while offering more clearance. Its weight has been evenly distributed for safe and comfortable driving. Safety and comfort that has always been the hallmark of Mercedes-Benz is clearly evident in the E-Class hearses. To top it up ESP, ASP and ABS together with the newly developed and adapted system from Bosch come standard with these hearses.

When a casket is loaded onto the hearses it can be viewed through clear glass, which is surrounded by exquisite woodwork, which can be accessorised with flowers. Nyaradzo opted for the four-door version, which enables the family to travel with the casket. There is also a two-door version which has a compartment that can carry the tent and coffin lowering devices. This compartment take up the space that accommodates passengers in the four-door version.

I was told that these were the first two hearses of their kind in Zimbabwe and Africa. I know that death is a sensitive subject but for people with class who want to go out in the same manner that they lived, being transported in one of these hearses to their final resting place, will be a befitting send-off.

This E-Class hearse is a clear representation of both beauty and function. The outer beauty is shown in the way Mercedes smoothly lays out its perfect architecture with lovely contours and the inner beauty is in the modification equipment and individual features laid out and arranged for friendly and practical use by funeral company.

By just studying these hearses closely, I could see the innovation that was involved in their production and that of their equipment. This makes it perfect for everyday use. With four seats and a coffin loading deck I was just amazed at the level of engineering that was employed to come up with such magnificent vehicles.

Other options include a glass roof. Those buying the hearses have the option to spec them right down to the colour fitting that they want, basic or elegant.

The E-Class hearses come with highly efficient modern engines, with low consumption values, low emission, peak value of torque and performance while providing great functionality. All engines are equipped with the ECO start-stop function.
According to Mr Mataranyika, the hearses will be availed to clients on their executive plan.
