INDUSTRY must utilise the country’s COMESA chairmanship to find market for good produced locally, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga said.

Zimbabwe is taking over the COMESA chairmanship later this year.

VP Chiwenga said: “I am impressed with what I have seen here, a wide range of consumer goods that we use everyday in our homes. As we move forward, let us explore other markets, going beyond the SADC region into COMESA. We are aware that Zimbabwe will be taking over the chairmanship of COMESA later this year and this is an opportunity to increase our exports into that market.”

Vice President Chiwenga said this while fielding questions from journalists after touring Willowton Group in Mutare.

The company produces a wide range of fast-moving consumer goods, including cooking oil and soap.
