DYNAMOS coach Lloyd Mutasa is concerned about the goal drought that has returned to haunt his team after the Glamour Boys fired blanks in a draw against Sunday Chidzambwa’s ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga on Saturday. The Harare giants have not found the target in the last three outings, which included disappointing draws against How Mine and the back-to-back fixtures with ZPC Kariba. And with 12 goals in the bag from 16 starts, DeMbare’s record has become a cause for concern for the technical department.
But the positive thing is that they have not been conceding goals. The Glamour Boys have managed to avoid defeat in their last eight games with seven clean sheets.
However, Mutasa yesterday said his team need a quick solution to their scoring woes after dropping crucial points at ZPC Kariba and falling 10 points behind log leaders FC Platinum in the championship race.
“The boys played well. It was an evenly contested game and we had some chances and they had theirs, but we just failed to score.
“It’s for everyone to see that we are not scoring goals, but on the positive side we have also not been conceding goals as well.
“Our major concern at the moment is that we should find ways to come right in terms of scoring goals. We have to continue creating chances and I am sure we will come right,” said Mutasa.
DeMbare have been hoping to beef up their strike-force during the mid-season transfer period, but they could only get two players Jacob Muzokomba and Takunda Sadiki to strengthen the department.
However, Sadiki is still waiting for his International Transfer Certificate from Botswana where he was playing for BDF XI.
Muzokomba was immediately thrust into the thick of things when he started the match at Nyamhunga alongside rookie forward King Nasama.
DeMbare returned to training yesterday and they have indicated they will invest a lot of time in the finishing drills. They have another tricky tie on their way against How Mine this week.
Log leaders FC Platinum will host Hwange at Mandava hoping to stretch maintain their superiority at home.
