WARRIORS stand-in captain, Marshall Munetsi put up a good performance for Wolverhampton Wanderers in their 1-0 win over West Ham in the English Premiership on Tuesday night although of concern was the failure to convert chances.
Munetsi made his sixth appearance for Wolves since joining them during the January transfer window and lasted the entire 90 minutes although he changed roles from attack to midfield later in the game.
With Wolves desperately fighting to escape the relegation equation, their followers are anxious for goals and Munetsi missing two close chances had some of their platforms calling for the need to work on his conversion rate.
The first chance came in the first half and Munetsi rattled the crossbar with the West Ham goalkeeper beaten while in the second half, the former Stade Reims star narrowly missed the upright after going one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
The two were listed as Big Chances Missed on the post-match statistics.
After the match, the Molineux News said Munetsi needs to improve his finishing and listed it as one of the major highlights from the match.
“Wolves enjoyed a dominant first half against West Ham and were unfortunate not to double their lead when Marshall Munetsi missed a gilt-edged chance.
“The ball fell to the 28-year-old unmarked in the box, but he struck the bar with his effort when he really should have been hitting the target.
“Munetsi’s finishing has been criticised since joining the club, particularly in his first few games as he squandered multiple opportunities.
“And it’s certainly an area of his game that he can improve if he wants to become more lethal in front of goal.”
