Innocent Kurira at Barbourfields Stadium
Highlanders 0-0 Herentals
IT is goalless at the break at Barbourfields Stadium, with both Highlanders and Herentals showing attacking intent but failing to find the breakthrough.
Isaac Ngoma won Highlanders’ first corner after four minutes, but Bosso failed to make the set-piece count.
Herentals loanee Archford Faira has been a constant threat down the left, giving his parent club problems with his pace and direct running. Faira later picked out Milton Chimedza, but the forward failed to make the most of the opportunity.
Highlanders created their best chance in the 15th minute when Shelton Moyo was fed by Mongameli Tshuma, forcing a good save from Herentals goalkeeper Tariq Ngwenya.
Luckmore Mutumbi also did well to deal with a threat from Chimedza, while Prince Ndlovu found himself inside the Herentals box but could not keep his feet.
Tinashe Mapumha tested his luck from distance with a free-kick in the 35th minute, but his effort went wide.
Five minutes later, Highlanders set-piece specialist Andrew Mbeba stepped up from outside the box and curled his free-kick over the wall, but it did not dip enough to trouble Ngwenya.
It is still all square at the break, with neither side able to find the decisive touch in front of goal.
