THE Zifa Southern Region chairman Lloyd Munhanga has bemoaned the lack of goals in the league where the top goalscorers is on seven goals with 22 matches played.
That tally is what some top strikers in the league used to score in one game in the 1980s.
Munhanga said the lack of goals is something to worry about, as fans pay to watch goals.
A game without goals, he said leaves fans feeling short-changed.
Bulawayo Chiefs’ Anesu Saiti leads the chats with seven goals, tied with Hwange star Marcellin Mlilo.
“Goals are what fans want to see. No matter how entertaining a match is but without goals, there is not much to talk about. It is a concern,” said Munhanga.
Log leaders Nkayi United have scored a total of 35 goals, the highest in the league followed Hwange with 34, Bulawayo Chiefs who are second have 31.
All three do not have a commanding regular goalscorers.
