The three-day visit is at the invitation of the Brazilian government. The ministers are expected to explore areas for further co-operation between the two countries.
They are scheduled to attend the International Construction Fair (Feicon Batimat) and a seminar with Brazilian companies and authorities linked to the construction and infrastructure sectors.
The ministers will meet officials from Brazilian mining giant Vale Mining Company. It is expected they will seek to forge possible synergies between companies in their countries.
The Zimbabwe delegation will also meet the executive secretary of the Brazilian Chamber of Foreign Commerce, Mr Emilio Garofalo, and representatives of the
country’s development bank, Banco BNDES. The bank is currently involved in several development projects in Southern Africa, particularly in Mozambique, Angola and Zambia.
It is expected that the talks will unlock avenues for further co-operation between the two countries and possibly attract investors for Zimbabwe’s infrastructure
development projects that fall under Minister Goche’s portfolio.
Brazil is a member of the BRICS countries which include Russia, India, China and South Africa. The five countries are deemed to be among the leading economies of the world. Last year, a Zimbabwe business delegation was in Brazil to woo potential investors from South America’s biggest economy to invest in the country.
