GOSPEL musician Snowy, who has been on a steady upward trajectory marked by high-profile gigs and successful shows, has praised the Lord for being his saviour after earning his third nomination at the forthcoming Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAA).

Snowy, who performed in the UK for the first time this year, is nominated in the Outstanding Gospel Artiste category, where he will compete against fellow local talents Vusa Mangena and Harvest Music.

He said he is hopeful that the 2025 BAA edition will finally see him walk away with the accolade.

“I’ve been nominated twice before, and this is my third nomination. If I win, I’ll take it as a moment of gratitude, a reminder that God is faithful and that hard work truly pays off. It would also be motivation to keep pushing, to do even more, and to continue using my gift to make a positive difference in people’s lives and in the arts as a whole.

“I haven’t won yet, but I’m grateful for every recognition so far, and we are definitely hoping this year will be the one,” he said.

“This nomination means so much because it’s a sign that consistency, excellence, and passion never go unnoticed. It’s encouragement to keep doing what I do — to keep creating, serving, and inspiring through art that carries meaning and purpose,” said Snowy.

The musician, known for his dynamic performances, electrifying stage presence, exceptional vocals, and powerful worship delivery, said the recognition is both humbling and fulfilling.

“Being recognised for something you genuinely love doing is always special. It reminds me that the work we do in the arts has real impact, it reaches hearts, brings people together, and leaves a mark beyond the stage.”

Snowy said his calling is not just to perform, but to bridge creativity and faith in a way that resonates deeply with audiences.

“I believe my work has helped show that artistry and spirituality can blend beautifully, that you can be creative, relevant, and still carry a strong message of faith and hope. My goal has always been to inspire authenticity and excellence, especially among young creatives coming up in the industry.” —@mthabisi_mthire
