“My help comes from the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth!” — Psalm 121:2
In a world filled with uncertainty, cruelty and challenges, it is natural to wonder where our help comes from.
We often look to others or even to ourselves for solutions.
But the Bible reminds us that our ultimate help comes from the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth.
The Psalmist declares: “My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”
This is not just a statement of faith; it is a declaration of God’s sovereignty.
He is the supreme authority over all creation and His power is unmatched. Psalm 46:1 assures us:
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
The Lord is not just a distant helper; He is a present, active and involved one. He cares about our struggles and is willing to intervene on our behalf.
God helps us not because we deserve it, but because He loves us.
His love is unconditional, unwavering and unrelenting.
When we surrender to Him, trust in Him and call upon Him in times of trouble, He responds with mercy, grace and guidance.
God is the helper of the helpless.
When we have exhausted our own resources and have nowhere else to turn, God is there.
He delights in helping those who recognise their limitations and turn to Him in faith.
Do not normalise looking to people or anything else for ultimate help.
Fix your eyes on the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth.
He is your supreme helper, refuge and strength.
Trust in Him, call upon Him and surrender to His loving care.
Remember, He is willing to help you because He loves you.
