God will not permit more burdens than you can endure

REVELATION 2:24

But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.

The people of Thyatira to whom the letter was written, had a lot of burdens or pressure they were enduring under.

They had overcome a lot of pressure under which they were labouring.

God was seeing all that resilience.

They had defied some evil doctrine, for which they were commended.

God then said because they had resisted much pressure, He was not going to allow them to go though other pressure.

He was going to spare them from other forms of pressure.

It was enough that they had resisted evil doctrine.

It was enough that they had not forsaken His Name.

God would not allow more pressure to be piled on them.

They had bent under the weight of the pressure. God was not going to allow them to break.

In 1 Corinthians 10:13, the Bible says: “There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

That should encourage you when you go though trial and temptation. That trial is not to break you.

It is for you to discover your strength.

Every temptation that God allows to come to you is the type and size of temptation that other people have experienced.

Others have buckled under the weight of the temptation, but for you, God will not allow the temptation to reach unbearable levels.

Before you buckle and capitulate under the weight of pressure, God will make a way for you to escape it.

When He permitted Satan to tempt Job, He knew how much Job would endure.

He gave Satan bounds he was not permitted to cross, in the temptation of Job.

God weighs trouble before He allows you to bear it.

The last time I visited Birchenough Bridge in Chipinge, there was a weighbridge that every heavy truck was made to go through for its weight to be checked because the bridge could not endure certain excess weight to pass through it.

That was for the safety of the bridge.

That was so that the bridge would not carry more weight than is good for its strength.

If man assesses the weight in order for only the weight that the bridge can bear to pass through it, God weighs temptations that His children must endure.

God weighed the bondage of Israel in Egypt. Israel did not stay longer in Egypt than it could bear.

When Israel cried by reason of the bondage of the taskmasters, God came down to a burning bush.

He held an emergency conference with Moses, a runaway prophet. Moses had many years before, fled Egypt.

By reasons of the affliction of Israel, Moses had to be commissioned in order to return to Egypt, now no longer as a fugitive, but as a deliverer.

When affliction is about to become unbearable, God will make an utter end of it.

He will not allow affliction to strike again, for if it does, it will destroy His children. He steps in just in time.

In Nahum 1:9, the Bible says: “What do ye imagine against the LORD? He will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.”

I like the part it says God will make an utter end.

He will make an utter end of affliction.

Affliction will not be allowed to strike for the second time.

When Israel came out of the Egyptian bondage, it never went back to it again. When the Son of Man sets you free, you will be free indeed.

When God saves, He saves for time and eternity.

God knows how much we can bear. His anger does not endure beyond our ability to survive it.

In Psalm 30:5, the Bible says: “For his anger endureth, but a moment; in His favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

He knows that we are dust, and cannot stand His wrath”

Psalm 103:14, says: “For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.

Our weeping is for a set time. It is for the night.

Joy comes in the morning.” When you pass through your night, remember that your morning will come with joy. Before you cannot bear it any more, God will make a way.

Every temptation has a way of escape. God will put no other burden on you.
