God’s purpose

IF we go back to the beginning in Genesis we read about the creation of a woman: So God created both, male and female, and the Lord said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”
Genesis 1:28

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”(NIV)

The verses above make it clear that God’s original intent for man and woman was that they rule together over the new creation. This means that an equality of position and authority was God’s intention. This unique partnership was confirmed in the New Testament.
1 Corinthians 11 vs 3

“But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of every woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.” KJV

If we are to understand the biblical role of a man and woman, we must simply examine the relationship of God the Father to Christ, the son. They have a respectful and loving relationship. No one can resist love. If you love your wife she will submit to you wilfully.

Man must not dominate woman but must have dominion over the earth. Men these days misunderstand the principle of submission and it is causing divorces and marital problems. Even though a woman was to obey her husband, it did not imply that she was now inferior to him and has to be oppressed. It just means that she should be willing to let him lead. A man will never be successful in life if he is using iron fists to lead her. Instead you will be frustrating and hurting your wife. A real man leads in love and mercy.

God Bless…
