FORMER Highlanders star players Kudakwashe Mahachi, Vusa Nyoni and Honour Gombami could make sensational moves next month. Mahachi is said to be on his way back to the Bulawayo giants upon a request from crack South African side Mamelodi Sundowns so that he gets game time while Nyoni and Gombami will be switching to the Brazilians, impeccable sources have told Chronicle Sport.

Nyoni and Gombami are plying their trade in Belgium’s lower league sides with Nyoni enjoying some game time at Mons in the second tier Belgian League while Gombani’s injuries saw him spend some time on the sidelines.

A source close to the two utility players said living legend, Peter Ndlovu, who is the Brazilians’ manager is behind the whole deal that will see the two players returning to the African soil after almost a decade in Europe.

They will join Knowledge Musona, Nyasha Mushekwi ,Ovidy Karuru and Ndlovu himself who are some of the Zimbabwean players who headed to the rich South African League after stints in Europe.

“Sgcebhe (Vusa) and Honour will be retaining to Africa in January if all goes well. The deal is almost halfway done but what I can tell you is that Peter Ndlovu is behind the move,” said the source.

Another source said Sundowns officials have asked Mahachi to return to Highlanders where he is assured of game time with indications also being that former Hwange and Caps United defence pillar Method Mwanjali could be asked to register with the Bulawayo giants.

Mwanjali was on loan to Mpumalanga Black Aces before being recalled but he could not make it into the starting lineup and has been training alone.

Mahachi’s manager Mlungisi Moyo confirmed that Mahachi could be leaving Mamelodi Sundowns but said they wanted him to be on loan to a South African team not Highlanders.

“We would have wanted him to go on loan to another South African team where he will get game time, nothing has materialised as yet,” said Moyo.
