At least 50 vulnerable children at Good Shepherd Children’s Home in Chinhoyi have received sewing machines and blankets, with the donation expected to provide life skills, warmth and comfort to the children.
Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo handed over two sewing machines and 50 blankets to the home.

Minister Chombo hailed synergies with the private sector, including farmers and churches, for collaborating with the Government and society to improve the living conditions of vulnerable communities.

“We are seeing that the whole of Government and whole of society approach is helping to improve the lives of people and these sewing machines and blankets are a result of such collaborations,” she said.
The sewing machines were secured from Miners4ED while St Johns Apostolic Church of the Whole World provided the blankets.

Good Shepherd Children’s Home cares for 50 children aged between one year up to 18 years after which they are weaned off from the institution.
Home director Reverend Eshwin Makozho hailed the organisations and the minister for supporting the centre.
“We are thankful to the organisations that are supporting you minister to extend a hand to vulnerable communities,” he said.
Miners4ED provincial vice chairman Mr Muchineripi Tsvanhu said the organisation’s philanthropic activities are guided by President Mnangagwa’s mantra of leaving no one and no place behind.
