House in CBD, a Bulawayo house music brand will be hosting a Goodwill event to extend a helping hand to those in need within the community.

The effort is to combine passion for House music events with a commitment to social responsibility. The Goodwill event is scheduled to take place on 28 January at a local bar and will also include performances from local house music Djs.

The entertainment manager of House in CBD, Philip Phiri, better known as Feel G, expressed gratitude for the support received so far.

“House in CBD has been fully supported and we are grateful, this has motivated us to pass on the stick by participating in community activities,” he said.

The primary objective of the project is to provide immediate assistance to those in need. By using the brand’s influence, House in CBD is aiming to encourage patrons to actively participate in community activities.

“The first step was to try and assist using the brand’s affinity to encourage patrons to participate in these community activities. The primary target of the project is to provide for those in immediate need of assistance.”

Well-wishers and event goers are encouraged to contribute by bringing packets of non-perishable food as the success of this event depends on the generosity of donations. Feel G highlighted the negative impact that food insecurity can have on individuals.

“Facing hunger can be stressful. Constantly worrying about where your next meal will come from can cause mental health problems such as depression, anxiety and even post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and these are problems that we face in our communities daily.”

Looking ahead, House in CBD plans to expand its community outreach efforts throughout the year.  With a focus on addressing hunger through donations and promoting community engagement, House in CBD has set an impressive example of how the power of music can bring about positive change.
