THE Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland East, Advocate Itayi Ndudzo, has commissioned a block of six classrooms for A-Level learners at Goromonzi High School.
The project which was funded by stakeholders, including parents, at the Government learning institution.
Besides the classrooms, the block has staff offices, administration office, ablution facilities and shower rooms.
Commissioning the block on Wednesday, Advocate Ndudzo commended the efforts by parents to ensure the project is a success.
“As you are aware, education is a basic human right and need, to which Government is mandated to ensure that every Zimbabwean has access. The infrastructure developed here epitomises the Government’s commitment to ensure access to quality education, as well as the right to equal protection. Today we are witnessing devolution in action, communities stepping forward like builders of bridges, linking aspiration to achievement. This is the spirit captured in His Excellency comrade ED Mnangagwa’s mantra, “Nyika inovakwa nevavayo.”
“I am being advised that the school partnered with Belvedere Teachers’ College for the construction work. This is a practical partnership that does more than build structure as it builds skills.”
In his remarks, Mashonaland East provincial Finance, Administration and Human Resources in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Mr John Chikohomero, saluted parents for the project, saying their contributions was a testament to their dedication to quality education.
