Gospel artiste attributes successful music career to prayer

FOR all the attention he is receiving from across the globe for producing good music; America-based Zimbabwean music producer T-Collar says he owes it all to God.
His bible is the most important tool that has crafted the much talked about success in the music circles.
Born Tinashe Sibanda, T-Collar is based in America and is currently making waves for producing the song Body on me, which features Rita Ora and Chris Brown.

In an interview, the young producer said he owed it all to the Lord.
He said spending time praying and reading the bible is the reason for everything that has happened, propelling him to dizzy heights.

“It is always important to not forget who the source of all creativity is, God. I never miss a Sunday or Thursday. When I am not in the studio, I go to church or attend bible study,” he said.

T-Collar said unlike some people that have their minds fixated on fame and money, he thanks God all the time for the gift of life.

“Waking up in the open is not something that we can do by ourselves but that is the will of God. Doing the job that you do is because of the Almighty and you need to take time out of your busy schedule and thank him for everything. One should always make time to thank God and you will see his blessings will continue to shower upon you,” said T-Collar.

Talking about his recent production, the young producer said he spent four months working on the Rita Ora song.
“I had an awesome time working on this song. I wanted to do something that was sonically different to what they play here and so I decided to add some African elements to the production and the song,” said T-Collar.

He said the song was important to Rita Ora, as she had been trying to break into the American industry for years.
“Rita needed something special that was going to put her back in the US market. We pulled everything out everything we could for this one and even brought Chris Brown on to help take it to the top,” he said.

T-Collar said working with the two artistes was mind blowing and was an awesome experience.
“I had fun working with Chris Brown and Rita Ora. They think and work on a different level from everyone else. They aren’t satisfied with just ok music but they really want to deliver music that blows you away,” said T-Collar.

Besides Body on me, T-Collar has worked with big names in the American music industry such as Jason Derulo, Krishane, Elliphant and K Michelle to mention but a few.

“My life is basically music. I am always working on at least 10 different songs at the same time. Currently I am working with Taps Mugadza from Zimbabwe. We are actually releasing his single in the next couple of weeks. “I am really excited for you to hear it. It’s something different and special,” he said.

The young producer said working as a producer from another country has been rewarding, as he brings something different from the local producers. “Being from another country is the best part because you have something different to offer. When I add elements from home, whether it’s an African guitar or chant, it’s genuine and everyone can tell. They love it because it’s foreign to their ears,” he said.
