The much awaited gospel concert featuring some of the country’s big names in the music industry is on tomorrow at the Kingstone House in the capital. Dubbed “Taking Gospel To Another level”, the concert will see Mathias Mhere, Sebastian Magacha, Takesure Zamar, Thembalami sharing stage with the rising gospel musicians like Daniel Mhere, Trymore Bande among others. In an interview with The Herald Review, one of the artistes Mathias Mhere said preparations are at an advanced stage for the gospel concert.
“Preparations are at advanced stage for the gospel concert, our main aim for this show is to push gospel music and we want to make it clear that this is not competition for we are not in competition with anyone or any genre,
“We are just trying to redefine gospel music industry and by so doing we will be taking it to another level,” he said.
Mhere urged gospel lovers to come in their numbers and witness different ministers of the word under one roof, preaching the gospel through music and dance.
“It will be a memorable day for all gospel music lovers this Saturday for we have a lot in store for all our fans and we will be dishing out different voices but singing one gospel, that of Jesus Christ through music and dance,” he said.
Magacha who promised a lot of surprises said fans were in for a treat.
“I do not want to pre-empt what will be taking place come Saturday but I just want to urge all the gospel lovers to come in and witness the experience of some of their favourite musicians,” he said.
Magacha, with a number of hits under his belt such as “Bhosvo”, is well known for his energetic dances.
Zama, who is well known for his deep worship songs and collaborations with popular gospel musical choirs such as Joyous and Zim Praise, is set to give worship lovers a treat of a lifetime.
Thembalami is also a force to reckon with after being in the industry for some time now and releasing household tunes like “Hande”, “Tomurumbidza”, “Bayethe” and the recent “L.o.v.e” which has been well received on the gospel scene while Daniel Mhere, brother to Mathias is set to prove that music runs in the Mhere family as he shares the stage with his brother.
