“I have been busy recording music at the same time studying the industry. I am so happy to be back into music. My album ‘Going Up’ is self-explanatory and is testimony to how I have matured musically,” said Mawonera.
Clearly, music is her calling judging from the arrangement and vocals on the album. Mawonera, however, bemoans lack of marketing strategies which she says are hampering the distribution of her album.
The 24-year-old Tynwald-based musician hit the spotlight with the hit track “Jonah” which was number one on ZBCTV for more than two weeks in 2010.
To date the youthful diva has two albums. Her debut album “Mukuru Arimandiri” did very well on the local charts. Her second offering released last month is also doing well with the single “Chineke”. Mawonera, who started music at the tender age of eight, is working on a collaboration with Mathias Mhere and Blessing Shumba.
