CONTEMPORARY gospel singer, Velaphi Gumbo popularly known as VG is appealing for help for his physiotherapy and medical expenses.
The developments come after the singer suffered a stroke a fortnight ago and has been attending physiotherapy.
Physiotherapy helps to restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness, or disability. It can also help to reduce your risk of injury or illness in the future.
VG’s wife Sifiso Gumbo spoke to Chronicle Showbiz, highlighting the severity of the situation, and asked for help from well-wishers.
“My husband suffered a stroke during church service and from then on, he has been undergoing physiotherapy. The weekly costs for these are currently around US$250 and this is beyond our reach. He needs to do this every day.
“As a family, we appeal for your prayers and financial support during this life-challenging episode,” she said.
VG, who is also visually impaired is known for his exquisite keyboard-playing skills and has sung songs such as No turning back, Ngiyakholwa, and Dabulamazwe over the years.
With a career spanning more than 10 years, VG has held numerous concerts with different gospel musicians including Asaph Kudita, Prudence Mabhena, and Eric Moyo in Bulawayo.
