Gospel singers start national tour

GOSPEL music fans will this month be treated to unique and uplifting music as Nkayi-born and United Kingdom-based gospel artiste, Nkosi Ka Ndlovu, joins forces with Mkhululi Bhebhe, Mathias Mhere and Takesure Zamar to serenade gospel fans in different parts of the country.

A brainchild of Ndlovu and dubbed “Tour of My Mother Land”, the gospel extravaganza will see him perform in Nkayi, Bulawayo, Plumtree, Gweru and Harare.

Ndlovu’s tour kicked off in his home area of Nkayi yesterday with a free show. It will move to Bulawayo on Saturday where Bhebhe of the Joyous Celebration fame will perform at Family of God Church. He will be backed by Ndlovu and his Band, the Experience.

On Saturday, November 21, Ndlovu and his band will travel to Plumtree to perform for fans at Alan Redfern Primary School.

Gospel sensation Mathias Mhere will perform at Kingstone House in Harare on November 28 and wrapping up the tour is Zamar in Gweru the next day with a performance at the EduCare Hall.

Better known as lthole lendlovu, Ndlovu said he was excited about the tour and promised his followers a memorable tour.

“I feel humbled to be back home and can’t wait to meet followers of my music. We believe the tour will unite us with our followers as we minister the Word of God through song and dance,” said Ndlovu.

He also expressed gratitude to the local musicians who will be part of his tour saying Zimbabweans need to work together more.

“I want to commend my brothers Bhebhe,Takesure Zamar Ncube, and Mathias Mhere for supporting my vision by agreeing to be part of this noble cause”, Ndlovu said.

Tour coordinator, Nqobile Malinga, said he was confident the tour would be successful and urged gospel music fans to support their vision.

“We hope Zimbabweans will support our project. We’re all upbeat about the tour and commend such initiatives by our musicians and other celebrities”, said Malinga.

Born in the Gwelutshena area of Nkayi, Ndlovu started his musical journey at a tender age at his church the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

His first professional recording was in England where he currently resides.

Ndlovu boasts of three albums, Umusa–Grace (2007), Hamba Jonah (2010) and My Journey (2013).

In the UK, Ndlovu has ministered in concerts, camp meetings and church conferences,

He is a patron of a development project aimed at rebuilding his former school, Zidulini, in Nkayi.

Books and uniforms have already been donated to Zidulini and Ndlovu is also paying school fees for underprivileged pupils.
