THE Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs has effectively implemented a range of flagship projects and strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing access to justice, improving efficiency within the legal system, and modernising service delivery through digital transformation and institutional reforms.
Speaking at the ministry’s strategic planning workshop in Mutare, Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi, said the ministry continues to spearhead critical reforms that advance the principles of good governance, transparency, and accountability.
He was represented by his deputy, Honourable Nobert Mazungunye.
“Through close collaboration with governance institutions, we have strengthened institutional coordination, enhanced justice delivery, and fortified the governance architecture of our nation. We have also facilitated the rollout of the Integrated Electronic Case Management System, revolutionising the justice delivery chain,” he said.
The establishment of new courts in Lupane, Epworth, Chiredzi, Triangle, and Mutawatawa demonstrates the ministry’s commitment to extending justice services to every corner of the nation, ensuring equitable access to justice for all.
Minister Ziyambi added that digitalisation of court systems, review of outdated legislation, and enhanced stakeholder engagement remain key priorities in aligning justice delivery with the Second Republic’s vision for a modern, people-centred justice system.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Mrs Vimbai Nyemba said access to equitable justice remains the ministry’s priority and vowed to continue outreach programs to marginalised communities, educating citizens on their rights in line with the ministry’s goal of access to justice for all by 2030.
“This workshop is not a box-ticking exercise. It is a strategic reorientation, an opportunity to craft a results-driven plan that consolidates our gains, addresses our weaknesses, and positions the Ministry as a leader in justice delivery and governance reform,” she said.
Mrs Nyemba emphasised the need for a performance-driven culture, moving beyond soft targets to measurable outcomes that demonstrate value for money, and ensuring the strategic plan is a living instrument that drives innovation, accountability, and transformation.
