Govt, ILO in anti-Aids drive

THE International Labour Organisation and the Ministry of Small to Medium Enterprises have embarked on a programme to economically empower businesspeople living in the Beitbridge-Chirundu corridor as part of effort to address the drivers of HIV and  Aids.ILO national programme co-ordinator Mr Colly Masuku said they had so far trained 70 people in Beitbridge District on basic business management principles.

He said there was a high prevalence of HIV and Aids in the district, hence the need to deal with some of the drivers.
“We seek to train people so that they can come up with income generating projects at the same time creating employment for themselves and others,” he said.
