‘Grab museum opportunities’

Zimbabweans should grab the opportunity to partake in the construction of the country’s historic Museum of African Liberation which has the full backing of the Government, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda said.

Touring the museum yesterday, Dr Sibanda guided by the Institute of African Knowledge chief executive Ambassador Kwame Muzawazi said since the ground breaking ceremony by President Mnangagwa a year ago significant strides had been made.

“This place we are in the forefront as an office to assist work, with the Government sectors working with the ministries. I think there are ample opportunities for all people who want to come in.

“It is one major pillar for the Second Republic which has come up with Vision 2030 under the leadership of President Mnangagwa and this is one major pillar in the infrastructural development,” he said.

Dr Sibanda said he was very much surprised with the amount of progress that has been made in trying to create a historic legacy for Zimbabwe and the continent which is going to be an important chapter in the development of Zimbabwe.

“So there is an opportunity for all investors who want to find themselves in the future to say they were there when the Museum of African Liberation was done, not only for the benefit of Zimbabwe or Africa, but the entirety of the world.

“There are opportunities in all sectors of the economy, recreation, construction even in that historical legacy so that you know who you are. We have all the facilities in terms of development. I think this will be a major milestone,” he said.

The Golden Quarry dump-site is currently being reclaimed to pave way for upmarket apartments, a five-star hotel, amusement and theme parks, shopping malls, with an access bridge linking the Museum of African Liberation and National Heroes Acre on the cards.

Yesterday workers were seen completing the fencing of a theme park while others were paving the newly constructed road.
