Assistant Inspector Christopher Ngwenya confirmed the incident yesterday.
He said preliminary investigations revealed that the pair had a long-standing dispute as Ndou was accusing his girlfriend of infidelity.
He added that things got to a head on Saturday evening when the two had an altercation over the issue.
“At the height of the argument the now deceased is alleged to have pulled out a knife from his pocket before threatening to stab the woman. As a result she fled the house.
“While she was away Ndou hanged himself from the roof of his bedroom hut and was only discovered by the same woman when she had come back with a view of resolving the dispute,” said Ass Insp Ngwenya. The man’s body was taken to the Beitbridge district hospital mortuary for a post-mortem, he said.
