Grandpa (91) burnt to death

provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Memory Pamire, said Bauti Banda of Ndiri East Farm was burnt to death when he fell asleep in his hut.
Insp Pamire said Banda was alone at home and made fire in his hut to prepare su- pper.

She said Banda fell asleep after preparing his supper and at around 9pm, the roof of the hut collapsed and it caught fire leading to the entire being engulfed in flames.
Banda could not escape and he was burnt to death in his hut.

Insp Pamire said a neighbour saw the hut on fire and alerted other villagers who rushed to the scene.
The neighbours tried to put out the fire but it was too late because Banda had already died.

A report was made to the police and they attended the scene.
His body was taken to the mortuary at Concession Hospital and police are still investigating the case.
“People should put out fire completely because there are high chances that the fire will burn down the house and will cause unnecessary deaths,” she said.
