A GRANNY has dragged her grandson to court for accusing her of forcing him to sleep with her alleged goblins.
Violet Mlotshwa felt her rights were being violated as her grandson Khumbulani Mlotshwa was emotionally and verbally abusing her.
Violet stays with her grandson at her home in Ntabazinduna, Matabeleland North Province. She shed tears as she told the court that her grandson had ruined her reputation and branded her a witch.
“Whenever he is drunk he shouts at me calling me a witch. He shouts in a pitched voice for anyone to hear. He says I force him to sleep with goblins and that has left my reputation in tatters in the community,” she said.
She added: “He also insulted me saying my late mother was a prostitute.”
Violet further said her grandson was in the habit of shouting at her complaining that the house was dirty.
“He always complains that the house has a bad smell and is dirty. He does not want to clean the house,” she said.
By his admission, Khumbulani said: “I admit I did so. During the night I feel a woman sleeping next to me, soon after that I would fall into a trance and would feel like having sex with a woman. Most of the time I wake up feeling tired.”
The presiding magistrate, Challenge Mahembe, granted Violet a protection order. The order prevents Khumbulani from verbally and emotionally abusing his grandmother. The order is valid for five years.
