“I believe we need to focus more on grassroots development of table tennis in Zimbabwe, aiming to nurture talent and increase participation in the sport.
“After I was involved with various initiatives aimed at promoting table tennis development, I feel we need to be active in discussions about the future of the sport in Zimbabwe
“I have garnered several accolades as a table tennis player and it is high time we put more effort to elevate the sport in the communities and beyond,” said Chiremba.
Chiremba’s dedication to table tennis, both as a player and a coach, highlights his commitment to fostering the sport’s growth in Zimbabwe.
“After taking part in the International Table Tennis Federation, World Health Congress in October I have decided to take the initiative to develop the sport from grassroots.
“During the congress there was a heavy talk about mental health and I believe we can use table tennis to tackle some of the mental health challenges that are being faced in our country.
“It’s not only a Zimbabwean affair, it’s a global pandemic that is affecting everyone,” added Chiremba.
