United Kingdom-based Zimbabwean gospel singer Eleana Makombe is in the country for a rehearsal with Minister Micheal Mahendere in preparation for her concert dubbed “Grateful Concert” to be held in Bedford, United Kingdom, next weekend.

She said an advance team comprising some local artistes had since left for Bedford. Eleana is staging the concert that will have the likes of South African singer Benjamin Dube, Minister Michael Mahendere, Ellard and Sharon Cherayi, Nigel Slick Pastor, Joshua Juru, Robin, Rejoice and Munashe share the stage with her.

The advance team that has left for Bedford include the videographer, sound engineer, logistics and technicians.

Eleana revealed in an interview with Zimpapers Television Network (ZTN Prime) on “Morning Rush” that she was dedicating the show to God.

“2023 has been a blessing to me and I thought why not end the year in style with a concert dedicated to that?” she said.

Eleana said she was leaving for the United Kingdom tomorrow.

“We are done with studio rehearsal and I am happy with the song, can’t wait to unleash it at the show next Saturday,” she said. “I am going back home tomorrow so that I can meet the advance team and we start hitting the ground running.

“The good thing is that the stage team is from the UK and we have agreed to start working on it from Wednesday. Everything is now set for the show, with accommodation and transportation for those coming from abroad set. We are going to have Apostle Chris Mahovo who is part of the delegation.”

The Zita Rajesu singer said she has learnt a lot from Dube, who she refers to as a father figure.

“This is a dream come true having Bishop Benjamin Dube sharing the stage with me,” she said. “I have met him a couple of times and he gave me nuggets on how to make it big in the gospel world.

“The main point was to stay humble and believe in myself. This has made me who I am and I am ready for 2024.”
