adminA leading Greek football club has lost three points, deducted by the league for failure to settle unpaid wages to German defender Jens Wemmer, in a warning to Dynamos in the event they are found wanting in their stand-off with Christian Epoupa.
Organisers said the points will be restored if the debt owed by Athens side Panathinaikos was settled.
Panathinaikos is facing the threat of relegation over mounting financial troubles amid reports that players have been skipping practice in protest at payment delays.
Panathinaikos players have told club president Vasilis Konstantinou that they won’t play for the club until they see money in their accounts.
The squad has not been paid since last October.
Panathinaikos have been in financial turmoil since September, when owner Giannis Alafouzos left the club due to his challenges.
This is the latest in a long line of issues for the 20-time Greek champions, who already owe €498 322 to former defender Jens Wemmer in unpaid wages and were hit with a three-point fine because of it.
