Greenfuel 1-1 Bikita Minerals
NEW Greenfuel coach, Saul Chaminuka earned a hard fought point against his former masters Bikita Minerals at Greenfuel Arena yesterday. It is Raymond Uchena who broke the deadlock with a first half header. It was however cancelled by Evans Katema who scored from the spot.
It was Chaminuka’s first game at home. Coincidentally, it was against his former side. Chaminuka ditched Bikita last week.In his first game, an away fixture to Manica Diamonds, Greenfuel were beaten 2-0 in Mutare.
It was pound for pound yesterday as the two sides played entertaining football, much to the delight of a decent crowd at the stadium.
Anelka Chivandire was undoubtedly the best player on the field and ageless Allan Gahadzikwa was handy for the visitors. The home side took an early lead when captain Uchena rose highest to head home the opener off a brilliant corner kick from Collins Dhuwa in the 22nd minute.
Uchena turned from hero to villain three minutes later when he brought down Liberty Masveure in the penalty area after Greenfuel needlessly lost possession in the middle of the park.Veteran striker, Evans Katema coolly slotted the ball home, sending Greenfuel goalkeeper, Tapiwa Chilenga the wrong way in the 26th minute.
The second half was more of a see-saw affair as both sides played attacking football in search of a winning goal. The home side came close on several occasions but Bikita Minerals goalkeeper, Victor Machopa was fantastic between the sticks as the two sides settled for a draw.
