BULAWAYO police are investigating a gruesome case where a six-year-old girl died after she was allegedly gang raped by three juveniles and assaulted.
The girl (name withheld is from Upper Rangemore suburb.
It is alleged the juveniles dragged the deceased into an incomplete house in the suburb, assaulted and raped her.
“On 04 May 2026, around 6PM, the mother of the six-year-old girl was at her house when she returned home complaining of pain in her private parts, chest and head. The girl informed her mother that she had been assaulted by three known juvenile suspects with a stick.
“She further alleged that the suspects had dragged her to an unfinished house where they took turns raping her,” said Bulawayo police deputy spokesperson Assistant Inspector Thandekile Ndlovu.
During the night, the girl continuously complained of pain all over her body while her mother tried to comfort her.
“The following morning, the mother discovered that her daughter has passed away and a police report was made. We urge parents and guardians to closely monitor the whereabouts of their children at all times and to ensure that they are not left unattended, especially during late hours.
“Increased parental supervision remains crucial in preventing children from becoming victims of abuse and other related crimes,” said Ass Insp Ndlovu.
