THE Minister of Trade and Commerce, Dr Oliver Munyaradzi, has apologised to his guests who were invited to a cocktail party at the “Holiday Inn”, only to find there was no party.
The invitation card did not say the party was at the poolside at the Holiday Inn in Bulawayo. Some guests showed up at the Harare Holiday Inn.
LESSONS FOR TODAY
When sending out invites it is important to ensure that all the necessary information is contained on the invite. Critical information includes the date, specific venue and the time in addition to the type of event and the dress code.
It is also essential for invited guests to study their invites carefully and to seek clarity where things are not clear so that there are no mistakes as the one that happened with guests in the story, who were inconvenienced after pitching up at the wrong venue.
It is important to apologise when in the wrong regardless of your status in society. The Minister had to issue out an apology even though he may have not been the one responsible for the boob because he was the host.
