It was all smiles last Saturday following the drilling and installation of solar-powered Presidential Boreholes coupled with nutritional gardens in Gutu West area, Masvingo province.
The provision of clean potable water is at the thrust of the President who has directed that all 35 000 villages countrywide should have access to the safe precious liquid.

With the country currently battling a cholera outbreak the availability of clean potable water for all citizens comes as a major relief.
Apart from the 35 000 villages the programme is also benefiting urbanites in line with President Mnangagwa’s vision of making sure that no place and no one is left behind as the country marches forward to attain Vision 2030.
Chipesa Primary School head Mrs Marongere was on cloud nine over the drilling of boreholes at the institution.
“Our hearts are overwhelmed with joy as we never expected to benefit from this Presidential scheme in this marginalised area.

“Our learners were accessing unsafe water from wells. We were a truly marginalised community but now we can rub shoulders with others all because of the President who remembered us,” she said.
Grasslands A, surrounding Chipesa Primary School secretary, Mr Julius Chidhule, said the community benefited from a nutritional garden.
“With the unpredictable rainfall patterns this year we would be bailed out as we can do irrigation farming. We thank our President for availing us of both the water and the garden.
“Water is life, it benefits all,” he said.
Granny Alice Mukuzve said water had been a challenge for years and the drilling of the boreholes came as a major relief.
“Our children would carry containers of water from home due to fear of drinking contaminated one, but all that is a thing of the past thanks to our President,” she said.
Another beneficiary Zanu PF’s Masvingo provincial secretary for security Cde Makutu Matanhi said President Mnangagwa and local legislator John Paradza who is also Zanu PF’s Deputy Secretary of Youth Affairs for fencing a local school.
“Chipesa Primary School is one of the first schools to be constructed during the land reform programme. This kind gesture clearly shows that the Government remembers its own people,” he said
