Gvt appoints new Zimstats board

THE Ministry of Finance and Economic Development has appointed a new seven-member board for the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZimStat) chaired by Dr Naomi Wekwete.

Finance Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube, announced the new board in a statement on Friday. He said the appointments were done after consultation with President Mnangagwa.

Other board members include; Dr Florence Matarise, Mr Evans Manjoro, Mr Nkululeko Mnkandla, Mr Charles Chimedza, Mr Nebson Mapunga and Mr Innocent Madziwa.

Prof Ncube said the appointments were done in terms of sub-section 2 of Section 7 of the Census and Statistics Act (Chapter 10:29) and is with effect from 1 November 2020, for a period of three years.
