GWANDA Pirates have been crowned the 2024 Zifa Matabeleland South Division Two champions after edging Jesse Mine 2-0 in a blockbuster game played at Egodini grounds in the mining town of Gwanda on Sunday afternoon.

The much needed win will see the outfit participate in the Division One League next year and there are yet to make confirmation of either they will play in the Central Region or Southern Region League.

“Automatically, we should be going to play in the Zifa Central Region Division One League. But if you factor issues to do with travelling costs, I think it will be prudent that we go play in the Southern Region Division One League. We will see how it goes as we are still weighing options,” said Gwanda Pirates chairman Guqukile Mpofu.
