Gweru Mayor Councillor Martin Chivhoko has congratulated the city’s chamber secretary, Dr Owen Masimba, on obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.
Speaking during Wednesday’s full council meeting, Cllr Chivhoko said Dr Masimba’s achievement was not only a personal milestone but also a major gain for the City of Gweru.
“It demonstrates that our leadership is not only experienced but also academically grounded and intellectually equipped to navigate the complex challenges of modern urban governance,” he said.
“Dr Masimba, we celebrate you. Your hard work, discipline and dedication to self-improvement serve as an inspiration to all our staff and the youths of Gweru.”
