Gweru Mayor Councillor Martin Chivhoko has congratulated the city’s team for scooping first position at the recently held Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo in Masvingo.
Speaking at the 730th Ordinary Council meeting, Cllr Chivhoko said the achievement demonstrated council’s collective vision of positioning Gweru as a prime tourism destination and economic hub.
“This victory is not just a trophy for the council; it is a win for every resident. It showcases our potential, our rich cultural heritage and the limitless opportunities that exist within our city,” he said.
Cllr Chivhoko commended the technical teams, exhibitions committee and council staff who worked on the city’s pavilion.
“I want to thank our technical teams, the exhibitions committee and every staff member who worked tirelessly to ensure our pavilion stood out. You have flown the Gweru flag high and we are immensely proud of you,” he said.
