The groups are set to perform alongside American artiste Deitrick Haddon, who is on a tour of Southern Africa.
The concert is being hosted by His Presence Ministries International aimed at reaching out to youths and encouraging them to adopt Godly morals through music.
Pastor Petunia Chiriseri, the senior pastor and co-founder of His Presence Ministries International, confirmed that all was set for the concert.
“This is a show not to miss and we urge fans to come in their numbers and watch Deitrick live on stage. He is an amazing and dynamic singer who appeals to both the young and the old.
“So far we have partnered with several schools in Harare and for students who will buy tickets at their respective schools it would cost them at least US$8 but the standard ticket is going for US$10 while those who want VIP treatment will pay US$30.
“This is a night to worship through music and we encourage those who want to sing, dance and worship to join us,” Pastor Petunia said.
For those not in the know, Haddon launched his solo career as a Christian R&B vocalist with the “Lost & Found” on Tyscot/Verity in 2002. The set peaked at number one on Billboard’s Top Gospel Charts and received wide critical acclaim and spawned the hit “Sinner’s Prayer” which received heavy spins on gospel and mainstream R&B radio stations.
The 70’s-leaning “Crossroads” followed in 2004, led off by the upbeat single “God Is Good”.
In an uncharacteristic move for marketing a gospel album, Detrick made an appearance on the long-running syndicated series Soul Train performing the single as well as the title track from the album.
Haddon appeared to be pushing his Gospel artistry for many things further into the ranks of mainstream venues with “7 Days”, released October 10, 2006. “7 Days” was executive produced almost entirely by R&B stalwart producers Tim & Bob (also responsible for hits by Sisqo, Chante Moore, Karen Clark Sheard, and others).
Balancing out the contemporary bulk of the album is the traditional gospel flavoured lead single “Heaven Knows” which Deitrick produced himself.
