The National Excellence Hall of Fame 2026 Extension has been rescheduled to May 9 at Rainbow Towers Hotel and Conference Centre in Harare.
According to organisers, this follows requests from inductees and dignitaries who attended the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair and expressed interest in attending the ceremony.
“One of the major reasons for the postponement was to accommodate requests from inductees and key dignitaries who were attending the Trade Fair and wanted to be part of this important occasion.
“We want to ensure that everyone who deserves to witness and celebrate this moment is present,” said Christopher Samkange, one of the organisers.
He said the Hall of Fame seeks to preserve the stories and achievements of exceptional individuals while ensuring their legacies continue to inspire future generations.
Samkange added inductees are regarded as legends in their respective fields, with the ceremony serving as a platform to honour those who have made lasting contributions to their industries.
The event is held once every five years, with all inductees and nominees encouraged to attend for what organisers described as a rare and significant recognition.
“This year’s edition will also feature the launch of an online museum application, alongside plans for a temporary physical museum to showcase the achievements of the honourees.
“Recipients are expected to receive golden accolades and take part in a formal graduation gown ceremony, symbolising the highest honour bestowed by the institution.”
Dignitaries from various industries have been invited to attend the event, which organisers say is aimed at celebrating excellence and setting a benchmark for recognition across Africa.
