Local youth-led arts organisation, Home of Arts Entertainment, has announced that its director, Happy Mpofu, has been appointed as an interim board member of the Zimbabwe Youth Arts Awards (ZYAA).

The ZYAA are an awards ceremony that celebrates young creatives and build a network of Zimbabwean innovators, entrepreneurs, and artistic thinkers across the country.

In his new role, Mpofu will serve as deputy executive director and director of compliance and nominations. He will help guide the interim board in driving the organisation’s growth and strengthening its impact on Zimbabwe’s arts and cultural sector over the next six months.

Mpofu, the founder of the Pumula Royal Arts and Community Awards (PRACAs), brings with him vast experience in arts management, community engagement, and youth advocacy.

Reacting to the appointment, Mpofu said: “I’m deeply honoured to take on these roles within the Zimbabwe Youth Arts Awards. This is more than a personal achievement, it is an opportunity to shape the future of our creative sector and ensure that young artistes are celebrated, supported, and empowered. Together, we can build a thriving arts community that reflects the richness and diversity of Zimbabwean talent.” – Follow on X @MbuleloMpofu
