The City of Harare has commenced a prepaid water meter integration exercise in partnership with Helcraw Water as part of ongoing efforts to improve service delivery and enhance water management systems.

The exercise involves integrating prepaid water meter data into the city’s Geographic Information System (GIS) database to strengthen monitoring, planning and management of water services.

In a notice, Acting Town Clerk Advocate Warren Chiwawa said the programme will be carried out in several suburbs throughout this month.

The areas earmarked for the exercise include Warren Park, Kambuzuma, Westgate, Madokero, Bluffhill, Sunridge, Avondale and Rydale Ridge Park.

Advocate Chiwawa urged residents in the affected suburbs to cooperate with teams conducting the exercise.

“Residents are kindly requested to cooperate with the City of Harare teams during this exercise,” reads the notice.

The integration programme is expected to improve the accuracy of customer records, enhance water distribution management and support the city’s broader drive towards modern, technology-driven service delivery.
