THE City of Harare, in partnership with Helcraw Water, has commenced a major water infrastructure rehabilitation project in Waterfalls suburb, with pipe replacement works set to run until June 30, 2026.
In a public notice, Acting Town Clerk Advocate Warren Chiwawa said the project will cover sections of Piennar Road, First Street and Ceres Road as part of ongoing efforts to improve water supply infrastructure and service delivery in the area.
“The works are scheduled to start today and are expected to be completed by June 30, 2026,” said Advocate Chiwawa.
He urged residents along Piennar Road to cooperate with the project team by removing any illegal structures that may obstruct the replacement works.
“Residents along Piennar Road are specifically advised to remove all illegal structures, particularly precast walls erected along the pipeline replacement route,” he said.
The pipe replacement programme forms part of broader interventions by the City of Harare and Helcraw Water to rehabilitate ageing water infrastructure and improve the reliability of water supplies across the capital.
Residents seeking further information on the project have been advised to contact the Waterfalls District Office.
