NORTHERN Region Division One Soccer League outfit Harare City are busy in the market.
The municipality side are scanning for a striker to fill the gap left by their top marksman Jerry Chipangura.
The latter is now with ambitious Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side Yadah.
With five goals under his belt, Chipangura was Harare City’s leading scorer when he was lured by Yadah.
Coach Joseph “Shabba” Takaringofa said they are in the market to look for an equally good replacement for Chipangura.
The Northern Region Division One Soccer League is currently on an extended half-season break.
Action will resume on August 5 and teams are busy reinforcing their stocks.
“We have been affected much by the departure of our top marksman Jerry Chipangura who is now with Yadah in the Premier Soccer League.
“He has been one of our key pillars leading from the front with scoring five goals before he left,” said Takaringofa.
“We were always dangerous when he was still around. I am not taking anything away from my players who I have at the moment.
“They are improving in every respect and I foresee the stepping up to the party when we resume the league next month.
“But we certainly need to rope in a striker who is as polished as Chipangura if we are to be consistent in front of goal.
“When Chipangura left, we didn’t have a viable Plan B and the goals suddenly dried.
“Chipangura was pivotal for us, scoring goals and proving assists as well.
“So we need someone like him and we are busy in the market right now”.
Harare City, who were demoted from the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League last season, are keen to make an instant rebound to the top-flight.
But they will have to be flawless when the second half of the season begins next month.
They are second on the log with 32 points, three points below leaders Black Mambas after 17 games.
Meanwhile in the Eastern Region Division One, Grayham are crying foul after they were walked over by Mutare City for failing to meet the July 16 affiliation fee payment deadline.
Despite their plea to pay by this month end, Grayham were told by league chefs that their match against Mutare City which they were supposed to host last Sunday had been cancelled in the Eleventh Hour.
And the three points have since been awarded to Mutare City on a 3-0 scoreline.
Grayham president Gray Hama is already seeking legal recourse.
Sources told The Herald that Hama was being targeted in the league as he is vocal in denouncing the leadership.
He is also reported to be interested in one of the leadership positions with elections coming soon.
