HARARE City gave themselves a huge lift when shoving aside all their three opponents in the Nedbank Premier Netball League bubble at the Mbare Stodart Complex on Saturday.
With three games in hand, the municipal side, who have 25 points under their belt believe they can still pip leaders ZDF Queens who took their tally to 36 after picking wins in three games in their bubble.
Coach Ropafadzo Mutsauki’s girls were full value for their points, beating City Angels 55-24, JT High Fliers 43-34, and Stormers 60-34.
Versatile Harare City mid-court star Lesibane Karaso was deservedly voted the player of the bubble as the league has started rewarding outstanding players in the second half of the marathon. Karaso said City will fight until the end.
“I am happy with this award. It propels me to work even harder but more so happy for my team.
“I owe everything to my teammates who are always fighting hard,” said Karaso.
“I believe Harare City still have a chance to win the league. We have to focus on ourselves, put in the work, and see what happens at the end of the race.
“I am very confident that we will do something extraordinary going forward.”
The elite league is becoming more and more competitive and the sponsors are happy.
